Established in 1989, Burmese-American Association of Texas (BAAT) aims to promote the Burmese culture, language and literature. The organization hopes to accomplish the goal through cross-cultural social activities. The Internal Revenue Service has granted the BAAT exempt from Federal Income Tax under section 501(a) on February 1990.
